My First 3 Days of #Inktober 2023

For the first time ever, I’m participating in Inktober!

Every year, artists of all kinds challenge themselves to do ink drawings based on prompts for each day in October. (See the list of prompts here.) I’ll be working in India ink, sometimes with a nib pen and sometimes with a brush. Though I aim to practice illustration, my main goal is just to complete the list.

Here are the first three drawings with their prompts:

DREAM

“Dream of the Plague” — this image was inspired by an actual dream I had about an apocalyptic plague hitting the world. Eeek.

SPIDERS

Are spiders afraid of spiders?

PATH

I made things hard for myself and drew a path of BOOKS instead of a path through the trees, which was my first thought. Midway through, I realized what I’d done, and got lazy about perspective and details!

The rest will be posted as Instagram stories as I finish them. Wish me good creative flow!
